Hello,
This is the first time I'll be making a stout and just want a few pointers.
I am thinking of making a mocha stout with hopefully a few hints of caramel and biscuits. So hopefully the experience is like having a stroopwaffel and a mocha.
My recipe for 5 gallon is:
2kg Pale ale malt
500g of the following:
Roasted barley
Flaked barley
Chocolate malt
Biscuit malt
Caramalt
250g Rolled oats (I'm not sure whether I will be putting in yet)
30g Northern brewer hops
Nottingham yeast
Cocoa nibs, Coarse coffee grinds and Lactose unsure as of the moment.
Does this look reasonable or overly complicated or even the right things to be chucking in.
Thanks
