Hi all, swmbo wants to have a go at making wine again and has been collecting wine bottles that she's enjoyed the contents of. The bottles are Echo Fall screw top and I was wondering if they're any good for repurposing.

Thanks in advance.

Colin.

@Chippy do they fit most commercial screw-top wine bottles or only some?
We’ve yet to find a bottle that they do not fit. We must have at least 50 different styles of bottle.
The only caveat is not to over tighten them, as they will pop of some threads. However they are always secure and leak free, with no oxidisation noted.

Yes, some members have reported the threads wear over time and they stop being airtight but that will take a while.

Ask the odd family member (we've all got them 😮) to save a few bottles.

Endless supply of replacement caps, a few interesting bottles to give away or keep and eventually matching bottles and boxes for the bulk of it.

Don't forget whisky bottles too.

A Famous Grouse with 70's shoulders may not please the French purist but...
