Fore
Landlord.
I use mine for circulation of ice water, from a bucket where it sits, through my immersion chiller. I just had to buy a new one and immediately set to work to prevent what killed the first.
You'll see a small nick in the cable, just as it comes out of the body. As this sits in water, I won't be using it with a live exposed cable. If I'd bought this for an aquarium and it just sat where it was, then it would probably last OK. But in my case, I'm getting it out, unwrapping the cable, immersing it in freezing water, wrapping it back up again, over and over. It's not up to it.
So on my new one, I have built up some flex glue on the cable exit from the body, and also plan to fix down the cable to the pump body (glue & tape) to further prevent flexing.
Time will tell, but should hold up better.
