I recently re-bought via amazon the CJJ berry classic 'Home brew beers and stouts'
http://brewers-droop.com/products/home-brewed-beer-and-stouts-by-c-j-j-berry-book something i read as a teenager with my eyes firmly on my mams old burco boiler it contains such classic 70s tips like using black plastic bin bags as liners for dodgy fermentors
I have read both of Ken Shales' books on beer ... they are good fun, I love the style, they are seriously out of date, you can almost see Felicity Kendal wandering round her garden in her welly boots.... but I did manage to pick up one very useful trick from one of his books ... despite everything. Excellent stuff.
