Why is commercial beer rarely sold in plastic bottles (apart from snob value)?
Most other carbonated drinks are sold this way and it must be one the most weight efficient ways of transporting small volumes. I’m happy to do my bit to save the planet but I’m sure most tins and bottles don’t get recycled.

Imo I think you have covered both points I can think of. Snob value and recycling (image if not actual).

And why would they spend millions to refit bottling plants to be seen as non-environmentally friendly. 😱😱

Instead they produce "planet ale" 👍🏻😉
