It's a general dog's body for a funeral director. Collecting bodies, prepping them and working on the funerals etc.

Some of it was horrific and some of it was interesting, especially when you get called out by the police to a coroner's removal - you never know what you are going to be faced with, day or night. If the police where all standing outside rather than in the house when you arrived and let you go in without them, you knew it was going to be a bad 'un.

I still work for the funeral director but I'm office based admin and marketing now and I look after a chapel of rest. I would say I manage it but as I don't have the word manager in my job description I feel a bit of a fake saying that but essentially that's what I do.

I'm past all the dodgy hours, heavy lifting, sights and smells I used to deal with daily.

I work on installing or servicing gas turbines that are used for power generation or for mechanical drive applications. I get to fly all over the world and I'm currently in Saudi Arabia and I haven't had a beer or any alcohol for 3 weeks now. My flight home can't come soon enough.

Wonderful place Saudi Arabia :-o.
I worked there for a couple of spells. First time round some of the long term expats asked me to sample some of their home made wine and beer (latter made from recycled Kaliber). I would have poured the lot down the sink if it had been me. And as for siddique, my conclusion it was better used as paint thinners. Consequently I didn't touch a drop of alcohol for the rest of my stays.
Look forward to the sight of the aircraft that will take you home. I almost shed a tear when I saw it taxiing up to the gate, having just landed from the UK.

Works facilitator for a mold making/casting/rapid prototyping/low volume production company.

So I get to see prototype jaguars, landrovers, Bentley, rolls Royce, MOD stuff and more excitingly movie props. But I can't talk about those. :-(

We do make scale models and that wargaming stuff like warhammer.

And yes yes my title is an Americanism :-(

snap...I was a scientist (biochemist/biotechnologist) working in industrial research ...though using bacteria rather than yeast...then got lured to the dark side in sales& marketing. I like testing my water and other homebrew processes because I miss the lab.
Luckily retired now.
