After a "challenging" day in the office, just got home to find this parcel waiting for me - super excited now to start my first AG brew. Weekend sorted!

I still get excited when a big box of ingredients arrive - what are you brewing?

Clibit's simple AG recipe - maris otter, yeast and some hops. And probably some water too ;-)

If that works out ok I might treat myself to a few more bits and pieces for my next brew, and play around with the recipe a little.

Good luck with your first brew. Take your time and plan ahead and it should all go well.

Yeah - never used it before as this will be only my second brew. So many to choose from, I went for 1275 Thames Valley on the basis it's where I live.

I'd put it in a starter if I was you. It says you can just smak it and use it (and it'll probably be fine) but this is really just for US customers as they get the yeast from the lab to their door very quickly. Whereas between lab and your door, you dont know how it's been handled/stored

Thanks for the tip, good to know for the future. In the end I saw this too late, but once I finally broke the nutrient sachet the pouch inflated as expected, and as of this morning my brew is bubbling away gently in the FV :-)
