    Youngs Cellar 7 Pinot Grigio

The brew has kicked off to a good start. The yeast seems to be working really hard. My improvised blow off pipe seems to be working well. ( Thanks for the idea a few weeks ago, Chippy_Tea ). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EXTj18qbbA&feature=youtu.be

    Youngs Cellar 7 Pinot Grigio

I started a 7 day kit tonight. It was the easiest kit I've ever started. I finished in less than an hour. My SG is 1074, hoping to get an FG of 1000. 1. Pour juice into sanitized fermenting bucket. 2. Add water (18-25 Degrees Celsius) 3. Add Yeast and Stir A Really simple kit to start. This...

    Youngs American IPA Timelapse Video

Thanks, I've got some spare Siphons. I'll chop one up and put a grommet on a lid.

    Youngs American IPA Timelapse Video

I already had the IP Cameras for home security, which I got cheap from Ebay a few years ago. The only Software I purchased was VisionGS Business Edition from Digital River GMBH @ £21.63 for uploading files etc. The cameras do upload with their firmware, but each file is numbered. I only...

    Youngs American IPA Timelapse Video

You could be right, I haven't looked into it before, but the recent three brews have been pretty wild. Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it.

    Youngs American IPA Timelapse Video

I have my BrewCam trained on the Youngs America IPA up loading a snaphot every 20minutes, mainly so I can check on the brew from my phone, While I'm out and about, or at work. I got an SG of 1.060, so I'm hoping for about 6% ABV. I started the brew at 8pm on the 15th April. The yeast kicked...

Muntons Gold Imperial Stout 1st Taste

Thanks for the advice. As you mention, this was the two can kit, with no extras added. I used the filter bag that came with the Festival Golden Stag Summer Ale. This really helped with the siphoning, as I'm still on my first year of brewing. Usually, I do tilt the glass, but I wanted to see...

Muntons Gold Imperial Stout 1st Taste

Hi, I tried a bottle of my stout tonight after six weeks brewing and conditioning. Pretty chuffed with the results. Looking forward to drinking this batch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI6MWNDeQrc

    Bottling Muntons Gold Imperial Stout

Thanks for your comments. I thought the Imperial Stouts were stronger, but the SG was 1.044 and the FG was 1.014 after four weeks @20 Degrees Celcius. I've read reviews that this stout is not as strong as stated on the box, obliviously after I bought the kit. I had a quick taste from the...

    Bottling Muntons Gold Imperial Stout

I bottled my Imperial Stout last night after 4 weeks in the fermenting bin. I managed to get a final gravity of 1.014 = 4% ABV. I think it was ready last week, but I thought it better to leave it and make sure. Maybe I'm finally developing some patience. This was a messy brew, the airlock...

Muntons Gold - Old English Bitter

By the way, I have found no difference in the quality with PET bottles. In fact I now prefer PET bottles, as they are easier to bottle and much cheaper than glass. You can also tell the priming sugar is working with PET bottles as initially you can squeeze them quite a lot, but as the...

Muntons Gold - Old English Bitter

Hi Robeer, I havn't used a barrel for Bitter, only IPA. Never used finnings in beer, it's not necesaary. In me experience you just need patience, which is difficult. I've only used finnings to clear wine. For the IPA, I conditioned for two weeks at 20 degrees celcius, then moved to cold...

    Started Muntons Gold Imperial Stout

Hi, I started the Imperial Stout Sunday night. It must be the simplest kit I've ever made. I got a starting gravity of 1.042. I'm Hoping for 1.010 in about 14 days. Last night it went crazy and was overflowing the airlock. I think its the most active brew I've ever had. I thought that was...

    Coopers Stout - first brew

I made my first beer back in november, which was Coopers Irish Stout It took 11 days to ferment. Another 10 days gassing up at about 20 degrees celcius. After another 7 days on the cold shelf, started drinking ( 40 pints made ). I've got 3 bottles left, which I will try and keep for another...

Started Festival Golden Stag Summer Ale 5th Feb

Thanks, This is my 6th kit and so far, all the kit yeasts have been fine. The beers from all the kits have been a success. Looking forward to the Golden Stag and St Peters Golden Ale in March.

The range make your own Rose

I made this back on the 17th December. I got 28 bottles at about 10.5%.on the 2nd Jan. I just now had a bottle after a month under the stairs and I must admit, I'm really enjoying the results. The Rose has a nice full body and taste and is easy to drink. I didn't add the extra 750g of sugar...

Started Festival Golden Stag Summer Ale 5th Feb

Hi, I started my golden stag brew last night. I added 500g of brewing sugar to the standard wort as the final ABV never seems to be as advertised (maybe because I'm still an amateur). I got a Starting Gravity reading of 1.044, so it should be about 4.8% by 19th/20th Feb. Here's my video of...

    Started St Peters Golden Ale

I bottled the golden ale last night. I got 30 bottles out of the fermenter, as I didn't want any of the rubbish at the bottom. I know its a waste of good beer, maybe I'll be able to judge the siphoning better with experience. There was a lot of hops on top, which I managed to remove with a...

    newbie question on gassing

I've got a King Keg that came with a CO2 valve for the bulbs and a car tyre pressure valve (Schrader Valve) , as well as a digital pressure guage. Helps keep an eye on things.
