OK so todays brew is almost a blue moon clone - but not quite due to having an almost empty store cupboard!! :)
Last blue moon I did was lovey - the only other moon I can think of is the legend that was Keith
So in honour to one of the greatest bands ever my slightly different wheat brew - Keith Moon :whistle:
46litres @ 4.4%
4500g Pale malt
1640g Wheat malt
1380g Flaked oats
610g Vienna malt
454g Jar of tesco value marmalade (295g sugar) plus 205g white sugar
30g crushed coriander seed - last ten mins
60min boil,
25g first gold - 60mins
30g hallertauer hersbrucker - 10mins
Expected OG:1044 Expected FG:1010 IBU:12.8
Will be fermenting with wlp400 (witbier) even though some recipes suggest us05 for blue moon I was happy with this yeast last time. Would of liked more wheat but none in my store and LHBS was all out
Extra sugar just to bump the gravity up and I only had 30g of HH!
I will be listening to The Who during the brew - kicking of with some quadrophenia and then moving onto some all time classics!!
