I made a copy of gamma ray in the grainfather and bottled it last week. I was brewing again yesterday and was curious to see how the conditioning was going (6 days in). It had a decent little fizz and good head retention but all I could taste was alcohol. I've looked at common reasons and although I only had it in 1 fv and only racked it to bottle I don't think 3 weeks is excessive and my temp control was spot on. Without uploading my recipe I wonder if anyone has any other reasons for this? I did use a bit more grain than the original recipe and the abv is about 6.6% rather than 5.4%. Should I just have scaled the hops up a bit to counter that? I'm hoping it will improve given a realistic conditioning period but the longer it is left the less hop aroma. It smelled and tasted fine when I bottled! I'll try and find the recipe if anyone can help...
