Hi all,
Completed an AG brew the other month, my third brew! All went really well and I followed all the usual processes i have found best for me...
BUT I’ve had to pour 10litres down the drain today every bottle tasted like it was chemically, I thought it might be sterile solution?
The recipe was a standard BIAB for 60mins etc with west coast yeast.

But vague I know as I don’t have the recipe to hand, any ideas?

What sanitiser did you use and did you rinse it properly if it wasn’t non-rinse?

If by “chemically” you mean nail varnish, it could be that you fermented too hot. Did you have any issues with temperature control?

I’d say it was more sterile tasting but you have raised an interesting point, all my brews have sat on a heat mat with insulation around and never had a problem. This brew was done when we had the heat wave in summer so poss could have been too warm. I think I used Young’s Sterilising Powder, again is not used this before.
Hopefully brewing next weekend a stout for Xmas so fingers crossed
