I have an Angram pump and wonder if it is advisable to leave it in the handle down position therefore leaving the chamber empty, in theory then saving the beer that would go off in the chamber. Is this a good idea?

How are you feeding the angram? If the beer is pressure fed from a corny under co2 then it would have a similar life to the beer still left in the corny as its still protected from the air....even better if its got the water jacket and being cooled and the corny is cooled then even longer........but still needs regular line cleans :)

Angram handpumps fill the cylinder as you pull, so there would be no advantage to leaving the handle in the down position.
