I have a coopers IPA kit that i plan to start soon, so its ready for crimbo.
The instructions suggest using:
500g coopers light dry malt
and
300g of dextrose/sugar

i priced up the dry malt at my local shop, and i think it was £4.99 for 500g
does it really need it? does it make that much of a difference?

my plan was to use 1kg of brewing sugar.
what do you think?

have you done a coopers IPA kit yourself? what do you think of it? the chap in my local homebrew shop says its a very nice pint, one of his favorites!

i used 500g of medium spraymalt and 1.1kg of honey with mine and it was lovely but too strong, id use the 500g of spraymalt and 500g of brewing sugar but it will work fine with 1kg of sugar or brew enhancer too

I did one a year back. I used extra light spraymalt, it was nice, ut I found it a little thin. I think I maybe brewed it a bit long. If I was to do it again, I'd follow instructions but brew it slightly short.

Just my thoughts,

its been in the VF for 12 days, i plan to transfer it to a keg tomorrow.
the instructions don't mention the amount of sugar required for kegs, just 8g/liter in bottles. how much should i use? it currently measures 4.8%ABV
going by its initial taste, i'd like to sweeten it a bit
