Beetroot wine

Hi all bottled our beetroot wine yesterday had a little taster it was a bit sweeter than we would have liked but still very drinkable, any ideas for any future brewings on getting the sweetness down apart from putting less sugar in.

What was the FG Mrs Witch, as i tend to find that if you finish a wine at around.990 it turns out nice and dry.
And another thing dont forget to use dark bottles when bottling Beetroot wine, other wise it will lose it colour.

That's the trouble it started at 1130 and finished at 1032 it just didn't drop anymore
