Todays brew is this,

40 litres OG 1.040 31 IBU
5.5kg Marris Otter Pale Malt
500g Dark Crystal malt
500g Rye Malt
500g Wheat malt
90g Amber malt

30g Magnum hop pellets 15% aa 90 min boil
5g Aurora whole hops 8% aa 90 min boil
20g Aurora whole hops 8% aa 15 min boil

They are in there because I find if I use just pellets when the wort comes to the boil, the hop particles just deposit themselves around the periphery of the boiler and are a bugger to get back into the boil, a little addition of whole hops seems to prevent this :wha:

Mash temperature

With sufficient pre heating and insulation there is very little temperature loss over 90 minutes

The Magnum pellets and 5g of Aurora hops

The 20g Aurora late addition and protofloc

End of boil, in goes the chiller, protofloc and late hops

Dropping the bitter wort into the FV

150ml of US 05 slurry was taken from my SNPAish brew and made up into a 500ml starter

Good aeration

The hop stopper certainly works, very clear wort at 1.042

Lots of trub
