The Northern Craft Brewers Winter Competition is at the end of Jan, mild ale 1030-1038
So am going to get this one on this weekend sometime.

After taking a trip out and my LHBS not having what I wanted I have tweaked the recipe a little to this one instead.

Bridestone Nut Brown Mild

Min IBU: 10 Max IBU: 25
Min Clr: 12 Max Clr: 25 Color in SRM, Lovibond

Hope this will be a corker. My next project will be brewing a brown ale too (once I finally get hold of the little bits for my boiler). I'm curious about the toasted oats bit. Have you used them before for this style?

Not used them for this style but have used them in a stout and they were outstanding.

This brew smells great and the green wort has a lovely flavour, malty and complex I live in hope its going to come through in the final product, hopefully the special B will do its job well.

Ended up with 25ltrs at og1036 with some wort left in the boiler :shock: so happy with that.

I pitched at 15deg C to get a clean beer that should condition fairly quickly.

The colour is spot on just what I was aiming for, Just hope it turns out as good as I hope it will :pray:
