I have a varied collection of brown glass bottles which I use for bottling my cheeky vimto and turbo cider (and WOW when I run out of wine bottles) but I'm starting to get a collection of clear fosters gold bottles and wondered if there is any problem with using these instead of the brown glass?

I understand the importance of keeping the drink out of direct sunlight, so assuming I put the full bottles back in the box or through a sheet over them, out of direct light surely there is no difference???

Plus the fosters gold bottles look pretty awesome and CV would look good in them (as well as ginger beer which is on my to-do list).

IIRC brown is only really important to keep the UV away from certain hop compounds in beer. Don't imagine it's an issue for what you want.
