Hi,

I am new to the world of homebrewing but am getting very into it and would like to eventually move onto brewing beer using hops and malts etc.

I have started off with some turbo cider, fermenting very well and slowing down now, but its very cloudy, i am wondering whether i should stick it in a secondary demijohn or whether i should stick it in bottles and prime them.

i do want to end up with carbonated cider btw.

here are pictures of it.

day 1

day 5

days 3 - 5 were very vigorous fermentation i could hear it stood well back from the bottle!
slowing down now i expect it will be finished by friday/saturday (i hope so anyway i go back to uni on sunday)

so can anyone help me please and tell me what i should do.

p.s. if anyone has a video on what they did from start to finish please link

Kindest Regards
Josh

Thanks :D

how long would you leave it in bottles for it to age/carbonate etc?

usually turbo cider is ready pretty quickly, maybe give it a try after 2 weeks, if u put it in plastic bottles then you can test how carbonated it is, maybe keep it at room temp for a week then put it in the shed or somewhere colder for a week and give it a try, just watch it doesnt fizz like mad when you open it as mine did, and it was bloody potent i tell thee!

oh, i'm using glass bottles (as i already bought all the capping stuff and cant wait to use it haha) yes mine will be seriously potent! its original gravity was at 1.7 :/ haha so probably ferment to about 9-10 ABV not bad for 20p a pint :D

as the bottles will be at uni with me and i dont have a shed or outdoors to put them in (and dont want to but them on the window sill as if the bottles explode i will have to replace my window) can i put them in the fridge? or is that too cold? i suppose i could keep a small cupboard cold using ice in a bowl for a week replace ice every morn and night :D

I think if you take them to Uni they will not last beyond a day or so :D

I bottled cloudy tc last night, I had started of with 40pts brewing and then at the end of fermentation I racked it and left it for a week. It did clear a bit, Given the racking and obviously the sampling I only got 30 pts bottled last night    The head ache is easing and I am only seeing one of everything now

BTW which uni

haha nice!

i go to teesside university (north east) studying CAD Engineering, how about you?

and its slowed to 1 bubble every 1min 10 seconds think i will bottle it on saturday :D
