helloo felows,

after some weeks of planning i will brew my first stout:

i will use:
1 can kit, 1,5kg of muntons irish stout
1kg dark dme
200gr of brow sugar
and the yeast will be the Safale 04, for a total 21l.

my question is:
i have 100gr of cocoa that i would like to add, can i do it???
if yes, how should i do it???boil it first, or just add directly???

Look up cocoa nibs and dry hop with them I would suggest... I think some people soak them in vodka before doing so just to make sure they don't get any nasties in their beer. But a quick google will sort you out...

I am going to try adding cocoa powder to my next brew here : viewtopic.php?f=14&t=48504

I will be adding it to the boil and people have reported varying levels of success. I know a lot of people recommend those cocoa nibs and with you using a kit it would seem like the better choice for you.

200g of treacle would probably work well with that.
Well, I would add it. :D
Good luck, hope it goes well.
