Hi,

I have found a couple of demi jons that have been in the garden for years...want to do my first wine..

I have given them a good clean but where they have been out for so long, there is a bit of crusty gunk in the bottom.

Any ideas what I can leave them to soak in to break this down?

Thanks,
Dave

Oxy clean, warm water. Give it a good soak then add some rice and shake about the rice should fetch off the gunk that the oxy doesn't

Fish tank stones sloshed around with water to remove the stubborn gunk or I found the lance on my jet wash did the trick.

just tried this with gravel off the driveway  worked a treat!
