The BBC have an article this morning about why the UK entry did badly. They seem to miss the main reason: that it was a bit sh*t. 
DOH.
And then it all went wrong.
Eurovision juries gave the song 15 points. The public awarded her nine. She ended the night in 25th place, out of 26.

The staging is being blamed by many today and i agree it was awful,

Nope it was true. That’s why we sent Dustin the turkey. We had to sell so many spuds to pay for the Eurovision that the polish went back home after picking non stop for 4 months and paddy mcmuckspreader had to fertilise the fields non stop for 6 months.
There was even talk of getting a loan from “the English” to pay for the next one
