Hello,
I am hoping to get some advice for my next extract recipe. I am planning on doing one of the single hop ales in the revised Greg Hughes Home Brew Beer book (page108). The grain recipe calls for 4.7kg of pale malt and 235g of carapils malt but the extract recipe states 300g carapils and 3.3kg of wheat malt extract. This doesn’t seem to be consistent with his other recipes and feel this would produce a much different beer (in my novice opinion). Comparing it to his other recipes with an extract version, would I be correct in thinking it should be 235g carapils malt and 3kg of light DME to give a similar style?
As I say I am still very much a novice, with this being my second non-kit Brew, and I welcome all advice.
Thank you.
