hey guy

my cider is ready to be filtered wots the best method for this
my dad used to make wine alot and he want to add all these chemicals to the filter but im not too sure
wot do u guys think
please help i dont want my cider going wrong :)

You can still buy the filter powders but that type of filter system is rather a thing of the past.

I use the Vinbrite system which uses a paper filter pad (google it) but that is only really intended for polishing wines which are already clear.

I have never heard of anyone filtering cider, a bit of patience is all it needs.
 
Are you planning on priming it to make it fizzy?

If so, don't filter.

Filtration is an optional extra finishing touch for still white or pink wines. It comes AFTER natural clearing or use of finings.

The big breweries and cider makers may filter and force fizz but home brewers generally won't.
