Out of curiosity why have you added dextrose rather than adjust your grain bill, are you looking to reduce the malty backbone from the grain?

Hi Gerry, to be perfectly honest cost, so how does it effect taste and quality it's still all new to me, you can be brutal if you want I just need to learn :laugh8:acheers.
If it's cost I wouldn't bother with dextrose and swap it for table sugar as you'll find no difference.
I'm assuming that your buying ingredients as you need them whereas if you have the space it works out a lot cheaper if you can buy in 25kg bags for base malt.I use THBC Minch Malt crushed stored in fermenters with a selection of speciality malts which lets you get a broad range of recipe styles as they deliver up to 30kg at a standard price.
With this in mind if for instance you had bought pre-made kits at an average of £15 plus delivery you could quite easily make six for the same price less hops and yeast.CML have some great yeast at really low prices as their hops are cheap with free delivery so it's definitely worthwhile shopping around.

I did use ordinary sugar it just shows dextrose in beer mate, I can get maris otter at 30 quid for 25kg in Liverpool will look into that, then like you say some different malts, cheers Gerry and like you say cheaper in the long run acheers.

Good luck with the beer hope it it will one of many great ones :)

With grain, try to approach local microbrewery (if you have one near), one near me, offers to sell me 1kg of malt for £1 and quite cheap hops - they even gave me a list what they have. Saving on delivery.
