I have just transferred the contents of my fermentation bin (Muntons Old English Bitter) to King Keg but I am concerned because when I put the syphon in to do the transfer there was a pretty vigorous foaming around the column of the syphon - actually fizzing! I suspected a contamination but I carried on with the transfer and now I have a keg with a layer of foam on the top. It tastes OK and the trub looks nice. The S.G. has been the same for several days (1.014) and it has been in fermentation for 16 days. Anybody experienced anything like this? Are King Kegs bomb proof or should I leave the lid slightly loose? My brewing equipment is on the top floor of a three storey house and I don't want 40 pints of Old English Bitter seeping through the floorboards! Opinions please!
