prob best to not try anything wacky on 1st go,think prob best to just use sugar, got to give it a go.

500g sugar
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1 sachet champagne yeast
1 lemon sliced
cinnamon stick
250 g of groung ginger root,(i love ginger beer with a kick).

was thinking of adding some golden syrup to sweet it up a bit as i hear its hard to get ginger beer sweet.

Thanks again, does this sound alright for a 1 gallon size batch

regards jez

it does seem to be pretty tough to make it sweet, but the fiery ginger beer recipe on here is pretty good.. it will get you wellied though.. brilliant!!
