The unfortunate trolley shelters at Tesco are no more!!

Hurricane Bawbags hit us at around 7.30pm tonight.........and it's not gonna ease up till at least overnight on Friday - by which point, we will also have endured rain, hail, snow and blizzards too :( We're set to endure temps of -10 the morn with wind chill taken into account!!! Time to get the Portavino out...it's our only hope of keeping warm!!

P.S....I didn't take those photos.......I'm no daft enough to go out in it lol!! :)

ingypingy2, yep was a wee bit windy. Hear 136mph at see level. Slept in spare room down stair to get away from the noise.
Stunned how quick the wind went from 9mph to gale force, must have been less than 15mins.

Did anyone read the metro this morning, there was a photo on the front page showing wind turbines bursting into flames as the winds reached 165mph winds...crazy!

I know what you mean, went from a wee breeze to full on gales in next to no time!! In our hourse, the temp suddenly dropped and BOOM!!! recorded wind speeds of 138.5mph at 7.30/8pm - sustained winds of over 100mph all evening!! Not as much damage as I thought there would be tho, us Orcadians ken how to build it strong lol!! :) Hope we don't get it as bad as the forecast says for toady!!! At the minute it's nice and calm, just a wee bit blowy!! :)

polytunnel still standing; but all the tomatoes have been knocked off the vines

wowsers lol!! :) It's been nice and sunny in town this morning....but the temp has dropped in the last hour...the wind is picking up again and I don't think the snow is too far away now!!! :) Lets see what the rest of the days brings!! Not looking forward to a drive out to Quoyloo later if it gets bad!!
