Wondering if anyone knows the yeast used by Hook Norton Brewery?
Am planning a clone using GW's book this coming weekend using the yeast cloned from a bottle of Double Stout purchased on a brewery tour at HN few weeks back.
Did ask the question of yeast with the tour guide but he gave a non-commital answer.
I'm thinking Marstons yeast?

Afriad I don't know.

However Hook Norton is probably my favourite breweries out there. I don't think I've had a bad beer from them. Love a good session on Old Hooky. Have you ever had their seasonal 12 Days? Its a really nice dark ale - love it!

I hadn't realised thier double stout was bottle conditioned. Im going to have to get myself some!!

Let us know how you get on with your clone. Just out of interest. Whats the recipe?

Oh, and is the brewery tour good? I've heard they still use a steam engine for all thier pumping and winching.
Going to have to check it out as its not too far from my parents house.
