Hop additions

i have one of my smashes kegged and almost ready, i hopped this with the progress i have but only a 30 minute addition 40g and it tastes rather nice not to bitter but a lot of aroma, anybody else do this type addition and with which hops

Yes,I've done this on an American pale IIRC...but I think I chucked getting on for 200g in!

Surely this just fits with the old maxim of:
Bittering at start.
Flavour at 30 mins.
Aroma at flameout.

So you optimised your additions for flavour & not bitterness

Yes. (to both)
I do a simple cascade smash.

4 kg pale/500g wheat malt
65c 60m
45 min boil.
30g @-15
40g @-30 with irish moss
50g @85c for 30m

I didn't know what to expect but, i like it and more will go in next time

My go to pale ale is a SMASH (ish). Pale malt (with 10% Carapils) and Cascade hops. No bittering hops. 30gm @ 30 minutes, 30gm @ 15 minutes and 40gm @ 80C.
