Hop Bag Weight?

Anyone think these'd be any good for weighing down a bag O' hops?

Ah yeah, marbles are probably better. Just put them in boiling water to sterilise?

Yeh in a pan of boiling water with the hop sock. Can get a big bag from pound land.

Bringing them to boil already in the water from cool(ish) should be fine but a small container + strong steraliser is probably quicker and easier.

I have just used a glass paper weight. We have loads as ornaments so I just borrowed one without her knowing and used that. Cleaned and sterilized first of course

Could I maybe stick them in some water in a shaker and shake it up to get them sodden? That way, they might just sink in the barrel if I lob them in?

Even when wet they seem to float mate, be easiest to just chuck a big spoon or marbles or similar in the bag.

25 mm stainless ball bearings . . No issues making 100g of hops sink. . . Easy to sanitise too

A word of caution,

I use marbles and they tend to explode in boiling water.

As Aleman suggests BB's are better.
