Hello people of THBF

Recently I offered my dad a little of my Wherry, he said it was good, but needed more hop flavour. I then breifly explained dry hopping, and he went, 'oh, there are loads of hop plants down the garden' However using my google-fu, and althoughsome 'golden' hops are called sunbeam or something in the brewing world. I am worried they are just ornemental hops. Is there any way to tell? or is it just a matter of waiting for them to mature, and giving it a go?

Here is a picture of the hop, I guess its not ready yet, but there isnt much in the aroma..

Many look very similar.

Yup, they look like all of them, I guess I jsut need to wait till they are ready, then try a hop tea, and failing that put a bitter on :D

Ive made some hop tea, and it smells.. hoppy. more of a bitter-y hop than something like citra, but I would guess it would not ruin a beer.
