I get a lot of stuff off Amazon and on the odd occasion that I've had a problem it has been resolved rapidly.

The syphon looks the dogs doodads but that crinkly pump and crinkly connection may be an absolute swine to sanitise so I would insert a small valve in the smooth tubing to keep the beer out of the crinkly bit and the pump.

Something like the valve on the end of this Wilco syphon would do the trick.

Also, with a flexible syphon it may be difficult (especially in cold weather) to get the syphon to stand upright and with the filter on the end you could leave a lot of beer behind in the FV when the syphon loses suction.

BTW I find that this is a useful bit of kit ...

... that keeps the syphon tube in place as the level falls in the FV. :thumb:

For that price its worth trying. Anyone got one?

After some bad experiences with Ebay over the last couple of years I'm having really good experiences with Amazon recently. Delivered early and free on all recent orders.
I have one of these but I'm going to adapt it with a longer tube so I can insert a tap before the sucker so as to prime the line then remove the sucker.
There are two reasons for this..
# When you're racking to bottles/barrel/keg you'll find that it aerates alot when passing through the sucker which does not fill with beer.
# There is no flow control on the line and is a pain when bottling.
Definitely worth buying though.
As Ditto has pointed out the Syphon clip is a great help 👍

I remember there was a lengthy thread about them here Bf not many were happy with their purchase.

Bought one on eBay for a quid, for draining FV water bath. It worked but the tubing's narrow bore made it slow. It broke a few weeks later.

On the plus side the seller refunded instantly and the small metal/plastic filter proved handy for e.g. Fiery Ginger Beer. I bought some more filters (10 for £1.99 on eBay) to give to friends, keeping a couple as spares.

Another thing I'm thinking of doing with it is cutting the end off so I can put it on the tap of my normal syphon with a tap to avoid having to suck the beer through (I havent tried sucking beer through yet, but if I do have visions of just drinking the beer through it and forgetting to put it in the bottles).

I found with mine that it weeped at the entry to the sucker and has a tendency to separate from the tube.Another reason for the conversion but it's good for priming the line.
