Morning all,

I'm planing my first brew in just over 2 years, I thought I'd be (probably overly) adventurous and have a crack at the Munich Helles from Greg Hughes' book. I'm ordering a custom grain kit from Geterbrewed but I can't get any DME for a starter. I could order some from elsewhere but postage is as much as the DME itself.

So I'm thinking of ordering a bit of extra grain and doing a quick BIAB to get 2 litres of wort to use for a starter. I'm thinking about 450g of base malt in 2.25L should leave me with about 2 litres at 1.050, or there abouts.

Does my maths look about right, or am I way off?
