2 Fold query here folks :-

1. What can I add to your standard ale beer kit to create an apple pie (or any sweet pie) flavour with epic crusty taste?

2. Which kit(s) would be best for this?

I am UK based if that affects certain product availability.

Thanks in advance!

Why not have a go at cider? At least that tastes of apples somewhere in there. Quite a few cider kits to choose from, and there's always turbocider (TC) from supermarket apple juice (AJ).
Some cider kit reviews in here

And for something completely different, you could always make up a small volume turbocider (apples) and chuck in some malted wheat extract (biscuity taste) to see how it turned out, or even a wheat beer kit with some AJ!

Well dont be adding pie crust as it usually contains lard and fats, trust me im a pie eating Wiganer.
Maybe steep some biscuit malts and apple puree, vanilla soaked in vodka.
Pectin may work for priming, just. though.
