Pump control

I have this pump at the moment i use a ball valve on the outlet to control the flow but it make a loud noise when i slow it down. Do you think a dimmer switch fitted to the power supply would be better?

Hi!
It looks like a magnetic drive pump, so should handle a restricted flow.
I've got a voltage regulator built into a project box if you want to give it a try. Drop me a PM.
