Second time I have brewed this.

It proved very popular. I have increased the OG from the original recipe from Andy Hamilton. Also added a late hop addition of Saaz. As everyone who tried the last brew thought it was a Belgium beer.

Rosemary and bay ale (Extra Special/Strong Bitter (English Pale Ale))

Final Gravity (FG): 1.012 (°P): 3.1
Alcohol (ABV): 5.46 %
Colour (SRM): 7.9 (EBC): 15.6
Bitterness (IBU): 2.2 (Average)

70.77% Liquid Malt Extract - Amber
19.49% Dry Malt Extract - Light
9.74% Lyles Golden Syrup

0.7 g/L Saaz (3.6% Alpha) @ 10 Minutes (Boil)
0.3 g/L Saaz (3.6% Alpha) @ 5 Minutes (Boil)

10 Bayleaf @ 60 Minutes (Boil)
5 sprigs of Rosemary @ 60 Minutes (Boil)

Boil for 60 Minutes

Thanks for posting this. Been meaning to find a recipe for a rosemary Ale. Had one on a trip to Switzerland in a brew pub. Was very nice.

Interesting, I might have to give it a go, as we have a bay tree outside! Did you use dried bay leaves, or fresh?
