Hi,

I am a bit of a newbie to this so please bear with me...

I have just started a SG Cabernat Sauvignon Platinum, however the fermentation does not seem to have started. I made the kit up yesterday afternoon, but there is no activity 26 Hrs later.

I have never made a platinum before ( have done gold and belvino kits) and am wondering if I messed something up!!! When I added the water to the wine solution it left the contents of the bucket quite frothy. I waited for a while for this to die down, however it didn't seem to so I added the yeast on top.

The instructions say not to stir the yeast into the liquid.

All that seems to have happened is that the yeast has collected onto the froth and it has "solidified" and is sat on top of the liquid.

Can anyone give me any advice??

Should I give the wine a stir to mix the yeast in or is it to late to rescue??

Cheers.

Simon.

Give it a gentle stir with a sterilised stainless or plastic spoon, then put the lid on and leave it alone for 24 hours. Is it in a fairly warm place?
