We have a new washing machine arriving on Thu and they will be collecting our old one - I think the PCB has gone.

Before they take it though, I'd like to strip it for anything useful. What do you recommend me knicking, and any advice on how to do so?

Was thinking about the motor for something like this.

Pump? Element? Thermostat?

It's a Hotpoint Aquarius WMA44.

Thanks in advance.

I definitely think it's worth salvaging the motor and the pump. Be careful with 240V though.
I was going to look for a washing machine pump before I went with the 12V solar pump.
It will need a very thorough sanitisation though

Cheers for the replies. Think I'll have the pump for cooling wort with water from a water butt, I've already got a 12v solar pump. Love the bbq idea.

I have a similar idea, my old dishwasher is lying in the back, waiting to be taken to the recycling, but I was thinking about taking the recirculation pump out of it for use in the brewery, any comments?
(recirculation pump since I assume it has to be food grade yes?)
