When making wine, has anybody tried not dissolving sugar in water first and just throw it in?
I always dissolve it first for ease but I always wondered isit necessary?

I don't dissolve it, the main kit i use tells you to put roughly 5 litres of hot but not boiling water into the FV add sugar stir then add the juice.

Interesting, I assumed it wouldnt matter as sugars from fruits still ferment. But good to know.
I usually boil water add everything then pitch yeast the next day when temperatures are stable
