I have 1-14 range test papers, but to accurately test the PH of the mash do we use a more exact type of test paper? I've noticed there are such things for cheese making!

What do you use? and where do you get it?

I use 250 quids worth of pH meter!!

pH papers are available in the range 4.5 to 5.6 (Hop and Grape do them) which provided you have a relatively good colour response you should be able to read fairly well. (comparison of colour varies massively between individuals . . . even those who are not colour blind).
