Hello!
It’s been well over a year since I posted on here regularly, and it’s good to be back.
I’ve taken a break from brewing, but am now getting back into the rhythm again. I had some old malt and hops to use up so did a usey-uppy which is drinkable but nothing special. At least it will keep me away from the good ones to give them the time they need to condition and mature properly in the bottle.
When doing another brew and introducing a neighbour to the endless fascination that is AG brewing, we had a pause for some if this refreshment. A really odd thing happened, and I wonder if anyone else has had this. When I poured mine there were about 8 or 9 fruit flies in the bottle. I chucked it and opened another, which was fine.
Any thoughts? My assumption is that one got in when bottling and was sealed in when I capped it, and then laid eggs which managed to grow and hatch. It was very peculiar though.
