Vitamin B1

Apologies if this has been answered before, but I am wondering why Vitamin B1?

I have made Apple wine, and made Blackberry wine, both from CJJ Berry. But the Apple and Blackberry says to add B1!

After filling my DJ's with fermenting juice, I have around 2l of blackberry, and 2l cherry left over. I have just started some more Apple (5kg fruit to 1gallon), so I was going to make a mix of apple and blackberry, apple and cherry. But just wondering if I need to add the extra nutrient?

Put simply, the yeast likes it lol!!!! I think it does say somewhere in the CCJ Bible what it does exactly but yeah, the yeasts like it, its like nutrient to them
