20% what and 80% what? Surely not 80% beef and 20% salt and pepper?
No, its the fat to lean ratio.

So, 80/20 beef just means its has 20% fat. Any supermarket in the UK will sell beef mince varying in fat quantity, usually from 5% to 25%. For burgers, you want a higher fat content, so 20% beef is often preferred.

Thanks, that makes sense....I wish my wife would stop buying the "lean" minced beef and the low fat sausages.

I was cooking for four last night but only had 6 sausages - so thought I would make something to spread them out a bit. Ended up with this yummy salad. It had:-

A base of spinach
Roasted Butternut Squash
French beans
Sausages
Chick peas
Feta cheese
Roasted walnuts
Apple
Red peppers
Grated Courgette

Dressing was:-

Dijon mustard
Honey
Lemon juice
Grated garlic clove
Soy sauce

This bowl is what’s left over and we’re going to try to get through it for lunch 😂
