might be a silly question but here goes anyway

i have my cider nearly done, was going to transfer to another FV with tap for bottling

can i add the priming sugar to this FV and then just bottle ?
IE: x spoonful per litre multiply by qty?
or is it best practice to add sugar to each bottle separately?

thanks

u can do both, either add the same amount to each
bottle or 'batch prime', where u dissolve all sugar in a little water, add to new fv first, then add brew, then bottle once the sugar is evenly mixed

Depends on if u want a flat cider or fizzy cider. 4 ounces mixed in a litte water then boiled for 5 mins and allowed to cool for 20 mins then added to a new fv then existing cider siphoned on top of that carefully to avoid splashes. You can bottle straight after that. This is based on a 5 gallon batch. If u want fizzier cider use 5 ounces instead of 3. This is the best method rather than adding a teaspoon to each bottle. Half a teaspoon equals 0.083 ounces for info. Hope this helps its what I do and it is always excellent results

Thanks.
Give it a few more days see if FG improves.
Now to decide if I leave the watery taste or bung in some Apple juice to improve the flavour.
Mmmm
