Has anyone got any practical experience of using this?

XMT7100 info

I got this from virtual village, along with a PT100 probe.

Intention is to use it to allow me to control the boiler temp - ideally so I can set it to heat up to a preset strike temperature so I can leave it to heat up while I get on with other stuff...

Thought I was reasonably familiar with electrics, but this just baffles me

Well, with some help from people on Jim's Beer Kit, I now have the controller working well. It's controlling two 40amp SSR's - one for each element, although both controlled by the one PID.

The SSR's get hot during use, so they are held about 6mm clear of the sidewall and have ventilation holes below and above them.

It overshot the target temp badly on the first test, but once I had used the auto calibrate it did a much better job

So, all's well with the AG kit, and as soon as I can bottle the kits in the FV's I'll have space to start my first AG
