I've been reading about whirlpooling at the end of the boil instead of just dumping hops in at flame out or 5-10 minutes before. It seems to be better for aroma and flavour. I would like to introduce the technique to my brews, however I don't really want to buy any equipment to do it.
Would this be effective? At the end of the boil, using my paddle to whirlpool the wort and then throwing in the hops, putting the lid on and leaving it for 20 mins. Or should I cool down the wort a bit before doing this?
