There were some 23L kegs floating around a few years back on certain home brew shop websites. They looked to be Chinese knock offs but probably weren't bad. Not seen an AEB 23L keg before though.

It would be useful as most of my brews are 5 gallon / 23 L but at £96 compared to the ~£55 I paid for my 19L kegs I think I'll put up with putting a few litres in bottles for now.

I have five of the Chinese 23L kegs, bought from The Home Brew Shop in Farnborough (cutrrently for sale at £111). The build quality is excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending them. They are not "knock offs" as several aspects of the design are different from the AEB type kegs. I have drilled the lids on mine to take an extra liquid post, which I use with a dip tube and float. Even with this they still fit into a Kegland Series X kegerator, although there is not a huge amount of headroom.

I like the sound of these would be nice to save bottling the few litres that won't fit into a 19l keg, no way these would fit in my fridge though. Id have to get a new one...

Those 23L kegs look like a great option and they should fit into my keezer using these new ball lock disconnects which I recently bought from Kegland's aliexpress store. They are duotight and have a very low height. Also, the elbow connection allows you to run tubing straight downwards...

Those new disconnects look very good, but I am not sure how much space they save over the stainless steel ones I use, which also have a horizontal hose connection. They are certainly better than the usual plastic ones with their 45 degree hose angle.

Great question.....I just checked and they are 1.3cms shorter or 1/2 inch in old money....and as you say, much shorter than the usual plastic ones.

I haven't tested them yet but it's really handy to be able to plug the beer/gas line straight in or at a downward angle using the elbow connector.
