Was it any wonder we were scared of going to the dentist when we were young?

Funny, my old job used to be to help the anaesthetist in the anaesthetic room getting people off to sleep. People of 'a certain age' were always terrified of the mask because it brought back horrible memories of the black mask used at the dentists when they were kids.

Yeah, but now there's video it gives national rail a valid excuse to close the line for 2 weeks while they inspect the damage.
One of the first things we were told on our HGV driving lessons was that you must report bridge strikes immediately however light they are, failure to do so could end with jail time.
After you report it trains are not allowed to cross until an inspection takes place wich is a priority as no trains can use the bridge untol the inspection takes place, the two week period was probably due to the bridge being badly damaged and needing a big repair job.
