Corny keg won’t seal....

The issue I think, is that keg was sold not being fir for purpose and seller will not accept it. I've bough 2 kegs recently, 1 reconditioned - after seeing how wear out it is, I have bought a brand new one (for mere £20 more).
Is it the usual risk with the cornies?

I've got four, all second hand, three were reconditioned and one not. The one that wasn't reconditioned stank of Fanta, but was fine after a good wash with Oxy and then changing the seals.

I've not had any problems with leaks, apart from when I changed the PRVs for cheap steel ones, which was case in point to never buy cheap PRVs.

Well, as an update, the new extra thick seal and the keg lube did the job and I finally stopped it leaking. I have emailed the homebrew company again to tell them I’ve had to spend £15 to get my fully reconditioned keg to seal properly but I’ve had no response. I certainly won’t be buying anything else from them and would encourage anyone else to give them a miss. Their customer service is shocking.

Anyway thanks for the help in sorting this out.

Glad you have got it sorted Del did you get some spares for future kegs?. I will be honest I have probably had 9 kegs from them and only had to use a thicker seal on one, maybe as the cornies are getting harder to source the quality is not as good as when I bought mine it was quite a few years ago and there was hardly any dents in mine I have seen some with some largish dents. Anyway happy kegging

Yep, got a few spares now so hopefully no more problems! It was more their failure to even acknowledge or try to help me that has annoyed me. They could have sent me a thicker seal out themselves for pennies probably and would have had a happy customer! Oh well, it’s done now.
