Alder smoked malt?

Just go for a walk in a wood etc and collect some dead oak etc .
I'd been wondering about this too. Plenty of oak, beech etc lying on the ground here. Probably less useful for those in a city though.

I didn't know soft wood was carcinogenic though đź‘Ť
 
All the European suppliers that stock Viking Malts, stopped posting to the UK after Brexit. It's the will of the people. I'm now using 48% Maris otter and 52% Chipboard smoked chicken feed.
52% dead wood was the reason for an alternative.
